@zhaomzhai since posting this, I have discussed it with Pol Limbourg and he tells me that the two species cannot be distinguished from photos, unless they include the underside so the existence or not of a prosternal process can be seen.

This is most probably smesti, as far as I think, signaticollis has a bit shorter legs. I can see the differences. Not everybody do. There should be other characters that I am not awaring, which make me thinking of smesti. At least smesti and signaticollis belong to two groups (both under the subgenus Idiocnema), they are not indistinguishable from pictures.
